Mark Alford kept his congressional seat in Missouri on Tuesday.
The Republican claimed a third consecutive term for U.S. House District 4. He defeated Democrat Jordan Herrera, Libertarian Thomas Holbrook, and independent KathleenMae Rogers in the general election.
Alford emphasized his record in Washington during the campaign. He highlighted nearly $23 million in federal project funding for the district. That total includes a $16.2 million Department of Transportation grant for regional rail infrastructure. He pledged to continue using community project funding to bring capital to rural Missouri.
The congressman serves on the House Agriculture Committee. He vowed to fight what he calls agency interference and aggressive regulations facing regional farmers. He also opposes the estate tax, which he labels the death tax, and supports continued funding for local agricultural research.
Alford received an endorsement from President Donald Trump. He campaigned on conservative fiscal policy, calling for cuts to federal spending to curb inflation. He also urged reducing government waste and directing more federal resources toward securing the U.S. southern border.
District 4 covers a large swath of western and north-central Missouri. The seat includes rural and agricultural communities outside the Kansas City metro. Alford has held the office since 2023.
