The 2026 high school football season concludes its regular season schedule Friday night with two games involving Little Rock-area teams. Homewood hosts Oak Mountain at Waldrop Stadium at 7 p.m., while John Carroll faces Leeds at home on Pat Sullivan Field at the same time. Both contests serve as the final regular season outings for the Patriots and Cavaliers before they move into postseason play.

Homewood enters the matchup with an 8-1 record and has already secured the Class 5A, Region 4 title. The Patriots defeated Ramsay 10-7 in their previous game, a contest decided by a 42-yard field goal from Jozy Hicks. Homewood's defense limited the Rams to 122 total yards in that victory. Oak Mountain arrives with a 2-7 record after losing to Thompson 42-0 last week. Despite that defeat, Oak Mountain quarterback Kentrell Tolbert rushed for 146 yards on 27 carries, and the Eagles controlled the clock for 28 minutes and 7 seconds. The two teams last met in 2011, when Homewood won 14-7. Oak Mountain currently leads the all-time series 4-2.

Following this game, the Oak Mountain season will end. Homewood will host Theodore in the first round of the playoffs next week. John Carroll, which is 4-5, drops to Randolph 25-21 in its last regular season game. Leeds enters the contest with a 7-1 record and a seven-game winning streak. The Cavaliers lost their previous game despite leading Randolph 21-10 early in the fourth quarter. John Carroll leads the all-time series against Leeds 19-10-1, with their most recent meeting occurring in 2019, which John Carroll won 34-33.

After Friday night's game, John Carroll travels to Randolph for its first round playoff match. Leeds will host Brooks in the postseason opener.
