A 19-foot-8-inch Batmobile from the 1992 film Batman Returns is listed for auction on November 23 in Los Angeles and online. Julien's Auctions and Turner Classic Movies are organizing the event, which centers on the vehicle designed by Carl Casper. Industry estimates project the car will sell for between $5 million and $7 million. If it reaches the high end of that range, the sale would set a new record for the vehicle.

The car is built on two Chevrolet Impala chassis. It retains its original glossy black finish and includes a radio-controlled flaming exhaust system. The auction includes other items from the Batman franchise, such as the original Batsuit and cowl from Batman Returns and a model of the Batmobile from the 1989 Batman film.

The sale also features props and costumes from other superhero movies. Lot items include Captain America's shield and War Machine's helmet from Avengers: Age of Ultron, along with Superman's costume from Superman IV. This mix of inventory spans multiple decades of cinematic history.

Catherine Williamson, managing director of Hollywood memorabilia for Julien's Auctions, described the event as a turning point for the Batman mythology. She noted that the auction spans the franchise history from Tim Burton's early films to Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight trilogy. Williamson stated that the collection represents a shift for Hollywood and global pop culture itself.

The auction is scheduled for Monday, November 23, 2026. Bidders can participate in person in Los Angeles or through the online platform. The event will conclude with the sale of the primary Batmobile and the supporting memorabilia.
