PAMT Corp., the Tontitown-based trucking company, reported a loss of $8.05 million for the third quarter of 2026, its eighth consecutive quarterly loss, even as revenue climbed 8.17% to $162.54 million from $150.26 million a year earlier. The results were released after markets closed Monday, Nov. 2.
The per-share loss came to 38 cents, compared with a loss of $15.5 million, or 74 cents per share, over the first three quarters of 2026, against a loss of $23.35 million, or $1.10 per share, in the same period last year. Revenue for the nine-month period rose 2.7% to $469.08 million from $456.74 million.
President Lance Stewart said the market for capacity has tightened as drivers leave the industry under heightened enforcement and regulatory changes. He said PAMT lifted its rate per mile 11% sequentially and 6% from the third quarter of 2025. Revenue per mile reached $2.06 in the third quarter of 2026, up from $1.98 in the prior quarter.
Stewart said higher fuel costs, driver recruitment and retention expenses, and lower gains on used equipment sales offset the rate gains. He expects those costs to continue as enforcement and regulatory requirements constrain the driver pool. "While this rate improvement represents a positive step toward aligning customer rates with the inflationary cost increases experienced over the past four years, cumulative cost increases continue to outpace the pricing improvements achieved to date," he said.
In logistics, revenue rose 7.25% to $44.78 million from $41.75 million a year earlier. Loads totaled 89,066, down from 93,853, and the average truck count fell to 2,010 from 2,069. PAMT shares closed Nov. 3 at $11.89, down 24 cents or 1.98%. The stock has traded between $7.15 and $17.75 over the past 52 weeks.
