Rock And Roll Over marked a high point for KISS in the mid-1970s, and the band is now marking the album's 50th anniversary with a comprehensive reissue. The new box set arrives on November 6 and contains 130 tracks in total.
The collection includes 100 previously unreleased demos, outtakes, and alternate mixes. KISS will release the set in two Super Deluxe formats: a six-LP vinyl edition and a four-CD package. Both versions feature the original 1976 album remastered from analog multitrack tapes, alongside a new 2026 stereo mix created by original producer and engineer Eddie Kramer.
The album originally debuted on November 11, 1976, reaching No. 11 on the Billboard 200 chart. It produced the singles Calling Dr. Love and Hard Luck Woman. In preparation for the box set, the band released a new Eddie Kramer mix of the song Mr. Speed on a seven-inch single on October 16. That single features an unreleased instrumental demo on its reverse side.
The vault material includes 22 unreleased recordings, such as nine Gene Simmons demos and a Paul Stanley demo of the song I Want Love. The set also contains recordings from sessions at Davlen Sound Studios and the unfinished instrumental Queen For A Day. Kramer newly mixed live selections from KISS's first Japanese tour in April 1977, specifically from four shows at Tokyo's Nippon Budokan.
Audio extras on the Blu-ray discs include Dolby Atmos and 5.1 surround sound versions of both the original album and the 2026 mix. The physical editions include a 104-page hardcover book with liner notes by KISStorian Ken Sharp. The book also contains new interviews with Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Peter Criss, and Kramer, along with previously unreleased photographs.
