The Detroit Lions confirmed on Monday that preliminary medical indicators for linebacker Jack Campbell are positive. Campbell was transported to a hospital in the Detroit area after suffering a neck injury during the fourth quarter of Sunday's contest against the Minnesota Vikings.

The incident occurred with 14:48 remaining in the fourth quarter. Campbell was attempting to tackle Vikings tight end T.J. Hockenson when teammate Jimmy Rolder struck Hockenson from the opposite side. Campbell fell motionless to the ground, and medical staff spent nine minutes immobilizing him on a board before his transport.

The team released a brief statement noting that Campbell continues to rest and recover. They indicated they would withhold further details out of respect for Campbell and his family. The organization emphasized that early signs are favorable.

Quarterback Jared Goff described the scene as frightening. He noted that the injury forces players to remember that teammates are also husbands and fathers. Goff said he is praying for Campbell and believes the 26-year-old is tough enough to overcome the challenge.

Campbell is a fourth-year professional who earned first-team All-Pro honors last season. He recorded three tackles before the injury on Sunday. For the current campaign, he has 57 tackles, down from a career-high 176 recorded in the previous year.

No additional updates are scheduled at this time. The Lions will monitor his recovery as he rests at the local facility.
