Jacob Allen Morley, a Tennessee inmate serving a life sentence, remains at large after fleeing the Northwest Correctional Complex on Monday. Authorities in Wisconsin are currently investigating a bank robbery that took place on Tuesday, looking for a connection to the escaped prisoner.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has stated it is aware of the incident but has not yet confirmed that Morley was the person involved. The robbery occurred just before the Bank of Deerfield closed its doors in Dane County. A gunman entered the facility, demanded cash, and restrained two employees before leaving. No injuries were reported during the event. The suspect stole a Lincoln MKZ from the parking lot to escape, and the vehicle was later discovered unoccupied.
Morley originally escaped by stealing a white 2008 Ford F-150 with Lindamood Planting Company markings. Police located the truck abandoned in Marion, Illinois, early Tuesday morning. Investigators said there is no evidence to suggest Morley is still in that area. He was incarcerated for the 2022 murder of Cody Birchfield. U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller for the Western District of Tennessee is coordinating the search and has increased the reward for information leading to Morley's arrest to $15,000.
Daniel Russell, a friend of the victim, described the suspect as dangerous. "He’s a monster. He will do it again," Russell said. Morley is currently listed on the Tennessee Most Wanted List. Officials advise the public to call 1-800-TBI-FIND if they have information and to call 911 if they spot him, without approaching the individual.
